NorFab awarded funding to strengthen Norway’s micro- and nanotechnology infrastructure

The funding goes to NorFab IV B, coordinated by NTNU in partnership with the University of Oslo, SINTEF Digital and the University of South-Eastern Norway.

NorFab provides access to cleanrooms and advanced equipment for developing components at the micro- and nanoscale. Applications span sensors, health, energy, quantum technology, communications and materials research.

– By developing our shared national facilities, we can support both fundamental research and the demanding steps involved in developing new devices and products. The deep tech developments these investments facilitate will become both economic and strategic assets in the future, says Peter Köllensperger, Director of NorFab and NTNU NanoLab.

The award is part of the Research Council of Norway’s national investment in research infrastructure, announced on 24 September.
